Between the Borders closing sales, trading, and an awesome girl selling her books on Craigslist, I have received a TON of books over the past two weeks. Honestly I'm afraid I'm going to start needing another shelf soon... But they are all very awesome books, and I am so excited for when I have the time to sit down and plow through them. We'll start with the books I bought during multiple visits to the three local Borders stores in the last couple of weeks:

I got some very exciting books this week!

• Glass by Ellen Hopkins
• Invincible Summer by Hannah Moskowitz
• Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan 
• Battle Dress by Amy Efaw

I bought Glass because after receiving Fallout to review, I realized that I didn't own, nor had I read, Glass. My library didn't have a copy either, so I bought it on Amazon. That makes my Ellen Hopkins collection complete now!

The other three I got when I went to Borders today. That was very bittersweet. I have been wanting to read Invincible Summer and Will Grayson, Will Grayson for a long time now, and I was so happy to be able to get them for less than $5 each, but at the same time it made me so sad to see how many books were gone and it kind of cemented the fact in my mind that Borders is actually closing. I really enjoyed After by Amy Efaw, and I wasn't aware that she had another book out until I saw it in Borders, so I picked it up. That's what I love about bookstores is that I can just go in and wander and see what catches my eye. It's amazing to see so many great books that I have heard about all in one place, and you just can't get that same feeling at the library or online.

This week in my mailbox, I received a couple of very exciting books:

-Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
-Rage: A Love Story by Julie Anne Peters

I am SO excited for these two books! As you probably know, I've already read/reviewed the ARC of Hush, Hush, but I can't wait to read it again and find out how the ending's been changed.

And when I opened another package and found Rage, I was squee-ing and jumping up and down for a good five or ten minutes. Julie Anne Peters has always been one of my favorite authors because of the topics she writes her books on, and even before I started blogging and finding out about more upcoming books, I was eagerly anticipating the release of Rage. I finally have my hands on a shiny copy with its gorgeous cover, and I can't wait to start reading it. In fact, I think I'll start right now.

This is my first In My Mailbox post in quite some time. Because I haven't been as active on the blog lately, I've stopped receiving books as well. But this week was very exciting, as of a few minutes ago when the FedEx truck pulled up. What did the FedEx man bring, you ask?

CATCHING FIRE! Plus awesome t-shirt and pin. *does happy dance* Now I just need to get The Hunger Games, because I haven't even read it yet.

In My Mailbox (8/24 - 8/29)

I got some very exciting books this week! Unfortunately they've just been sitting on my bed all week while I've had to deal with the first week of school and tons of homework (I don't EVER remember having this much homework the first week of school!) But now that it's the weekend, I'm getting in as much reading time as I can.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I was in Las Vegas doing some shopping for the past few days. I did manage to read a little bit while I was there, so I should have another review up soon. Here's what was in my mailbox this week :) I'm reeeeally excited for Psych Major Syndrome.

It was seeming like nothing was going to show up this week, but today something finally did. My contest win from Katie's Book Blog! I'd have to say that the one I'm looking forward to the most is Coffeehouse Angel. I've heard so many good things about it from a lot of you, so that'll probably be the next book I read after finishing the one I'm currently reading.

I think the cover on this one is so cute :D But unfortunately, I haven't read the previous two books in the series. So I need to obtain copies of those and read them before I'll read this one.








Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Okay so I've heard a lot about this book, but had never actually read the summary until I got my copy (thanks to Sharon :D). And after I read it, I became instantly excited and wanted to start the book right away. But of course I've got other books I need to read first, so this one will have to wait for a bit.

Received to review for Bookdivas. But right as I went to type this and started reading the back cover, I realized that it's also part of a trilogy. And you should know me by now - I hate reading books out of order! D: Need to get the other two, quick!

Fairy Tale by Cyn Balog

I won this from Goodreads.com, and it's signed too. Yay! I think the cover is so pretty. And the plot sounds amazing as well. There is a picture of a fortune cookie on the back cover, that I totally wasn't expecting to be there when I turned it over. It kind of makes me laugh because it seems so random compared to the front. I'm sure there's significance though, and I can't wait to see what it is :)





Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson

The summary of this one sounds so different and interesting. I'm hoping it'll be as good as I think it will. I've only read one of Maureen Johnson's other books (and it's the one that I only know of a few other people who've read it - The Bermudez Triangle. Most people seem to have read her other books.) I really enjoyed The Bermudez Triangle though, so I've definitely got high expectations for this one.





Sofi Mendoza's Guide to Getting Lost in Mexico by Malin Alegria

Found this in the $3 bargain books at Borders, and couldn't resist! I'm not a huge fan of the cover, but I picked it up and looked it over anyway. The plot sounds really interesting, and for $3 I figured it's worth a shot!








The Nature of Jade by Deb Caletti

While I wasn't the biggest fan of the first Deb Caletti book I read (The Queen of Everything), you guys urged me to try some of her other books. This is one that I've been really interested in reading since I first heard of it, so I was excited when I also found it in the $3 bargain bin at Borders. I snatched it up right away. I'm really hoping that I'll like it, because I can already relate to the main character in the fact that I have panic disorder as well. I'm not sure if it'll be anything like Jade's in the book, so I'm looking forward to reading about it.

Received from Bookmooch. I'll probably wait until I have the whole series to start reading it, which could take a while. But I hate starting a series and not having the rest of the books and then forgetting what I read while I try to come across the other books. It looks interesting though.





The Glass Maker's Daughter by V. Briceland

Thanks to Addicted To Books for this one! I'm honestly not much of a fan of these types of books, but I figure I'll give anything a try once. I hope it's good but I'm not quite sure what to expect from this one.

Addicted To Books also sent me an ARC of this (thanks, Amy!) I really love the cover, it's so pretty. And it seems like it'll be a great book. I've heard about it for a while now and can't wait to read it.

Lovestruck Summer by Melissa Walker

Won this in a contest that Elizabeth Scott had, thanks! This sounds like a really good summer read :) Definitely looking forward to reading it. And the cover is cute too.






A Time For Dancing by Davida Wills Hurwin

I went to a local library sale this weekend, and while they didn't have many good books, I did manage to find this. I'd heard about it from a friend who said it was really good, so I'll be interested to see how it is. :)

I got this at the library sale too. It's kind of funny because I had seen the cover on another blog just yesterday and thought it looked interesting. Then I was browsing at the library sale today and saw the same cover! It's not something that I would've bought at retail price, though it sounds interesting enough, so I decided to pick it up.
